aftermath
so it ends again
we finish second and sixth in the country
in cross-country =)
it was not a fairytale
it was not to be
but what we lost was the title
not everything
i was reading my own blog yesterday
and i came across last year's reflections
there i wrote
"i would never exchange the title
for the acxperience"
which was what came to me this time as well
i used to feel that this acxperience
was part and parcel of claiming the title
a stepping stone to glory
but after spending so much time going thru it all
the title becomes the stepping stone
it gave us a reason to fight together
a reason to come together and bond
everyday to go through it
and build towards a better acxperience
well as always
i would address a few people here
and so i shall
to nice, it's been 5 seasons now. but i still remember all the times we had since day 1. now, you know all me, and i know all eu. you. this journey i've had with you has been... well, something no one ever tried to put in words. spectacular, passionate and magnificient come to mind, but no where close. you know honestly, when you first became captain, i didnt see you as one. but as times passed and seasons passed, you grew into it. you became the captain. you became my captain. how you got to that part of my heart, i dunno. but the fact that you're there really says something. this year, you wanted that title. sad to say, it wasnt meant to be. but not because you never led us there. on the contrary, you led us onto something greater. we missed the title in the end, but only by that measly point. overally though, acx06 has been ownage and ownage. and guess who captained it? no, not eu. but you. yes you.
to test, you've been there for 5 long seasons too. you've changed and i've changed, the world has changed and times changed. but i find myself realising our changes were kinda parallel. you were like the brother i never had, even closer. well, not in that xizhen sense but well you get the idea. this walk down with you, has also been splendid. running wise, this year you began to believe. now that's something you can take with you, and i'm sure things will come good. there's still some way to go before we graduate, but cherish every moment, the end will come sooner than you realise. even though you're a bright kid and think fast, it will still come faster. and you know something? you were talking about how the team is like when vic and i arent around. guess what? you're never there to see how its like without you too. go figure. you're a bright kid.
to mop, you're not as senior as the REAL cabinet, but there's this feeling that you've been there since a long time ago. well this year i know how much you really wanted that title, but it was not meant to be. you blame yourself for not running faster. but shit happens, and shit just happened that day. it was just a bad running day. but away from that, i've seen you grow from strength to strength, though not height to height, and you've really been fast faster fastest. all your training did not pay off on you alone. it helped us. it helped us all. i still remember what you said after your first season "there's this bond here that i cant find anywhere else". and i think that should matter alot to you. we are a team. and you did not lose that one point. we all had a part in that one point. whatever it is, you may not have got your hands on the title, but you still have this team, this team that will be there always, even if you never reach puberty.
to jon, it was great to have you back. i can safely represent the team and say we appreciated your return. we'll always be glad to have you back, running or not, dota or not. yes jon, you are irritating, but that has become part of this team. when you first left, i kinda missed all the irritation. it was like a blank page in a book. and although we're all mortals, you're one fast mortal. just go on running the way you do, and one day we'll get to see you on tv, wherever you are. as you go back again, do remember us and keep in touch. think about all the times you've spent with us, and know that you have a place in our hearts, in this team. i'll send you the pictures when i get my hands on them. so till then, aurs fallah nome.
to seb, it was heartening to see you run to school in the mornings. the way you wasted your body at 3:18s. how you still persisted with a diet plan and how you took it upon yourself to manage the new blood. i applaud your committment. i thought it was going to be seb year, but cramps are bitches and bitches strike when you least need them. disappointing, yes, but you've done your part and i'm really proud of you. i know you're not gonna crumble at this because that's just who you are. we've still got next year without jon and we're gonna need ppl like you to fill that void. and i know you can.
to changming, i've seen you grow from arm rest to tower over the past few years. you've been really fun to have around in the team, and really, you're not slow at all. you just hit puberty too late. you've gotten alot faster now and that's quite encouraging isn't it? i can see you doing well at track, and i know you will. and you too, are a piece to this acx puzzle. it'll be emptier without you and the flying pandas.
last but not least, but also certainly not the most, to victor, although your trng didnt pay out for you in the end, it paid out for us. there was a standard there that reminded us that we haven't been the most hardworking ones. and that only served us better. you had this wide influence on us, literally and metaphorically. you gave much to this team in every aspect and for that i thank you. i still remember how you gave up that last time trial. how you put the team before yourself. that is what you have learnt from all this and do carry it off with you.

and though our team is small
its not small oso
but all this i have to say
this team has come to be my family
and every minute i spent
be in lanning, hanging out
or even trng
were the best minutes of my life
even better than with my girlfriends
but dun tell them that =)
it all ends
but has it?
the title has escaped our grasp
but that is all
the real deal is still with us
and so another chapter ends
not a happy ending
but a great chapter it was
take a break
walk around
but do come back
we're not done yet
we'll flip the page
and we'll pen another
the writers may come and go
but the essence will never change
the acxperience shall never change
